Becoming an NPSP Contributor

Recently I got the chance to attend an NPSP Sprint (read about my experience here) and as a result of the I am now a Nonprofit Starter Pack Contributor, as indicated by my shiny new Power of Us Hub badge.

Becoming a contributor is something I had thought about for awhile but I assumed that it would be a difficult and drawn out process, turns out that couldn’t be further from the truth.  If you have a great idea for a new Trigger then everything you need from start to finish can be found here.  Even if you aren’t the coding type you can be a contributor, maybe you have an idea for a set of really awesome reports that should come standard with every install of the NPSP, in that case I would recommend heading over to the NPSP Contributors group in the Power of Us Hub and starting a conversation about how to get started.

It may seem scary at first but I can honestly say that the whole process amazingly easy, all that was required of me was a desire to help.  So if you have ever thought about contributing to the NPSP I honestly don’t know what you’re waiting for.  I’ll even help you out by doing my best to answer any specific questions you may have so feel free to email me.
